At the top of my list is Anticipation--waiting for my adult son to come home for a visit. We get together here or there four or so times a year. I love him more than anything, so his visit is the best Christmas gift I could ever wish for. Second is Humility--the Christmas Eve church service is the highlight of festivities for me. Not the gifts or mountains of cookies or twinkling lights. The knowledge that we are nothing without the gift of grace from above, the inspiration to always strive to be a better person, a kinder more generous person, a more forgiving person. I may be one lousy Christian, but I am reminded that God forgives me and welcomes me into the church on Christmas Eve. And third, an excuse for Creativity--to simply let loose and have fun, shake off my cares, make some pretties, and smile. Thanks for being here all year long, giving me something to smile about.
